The thought of finding a work at home job can be nerve-racking. You want to make sure you are not applying for jobs with scam companies. You want to make sure the job offers everything you are looking for at the present time and you’re only coming across jobs that need a specific type and years of experience. Most people who are interested in the thought of working from home often don’t know where to start and don’t have a career that is easily transferable to working at home.
Many companies understand the frustration of this and as a result, offer work at home opportunities for those with no particular experience and who are looking to learn the industry. If you have a variety of soft skills that you use in everyday interaction, you would be a great fit for opportunities like these. The most important skill to have is the ability to work independently.
Keep in mind that with the majority of these companies, you’ll need a computer, and some additional equipment that would be specified in the job description on the company’s website.
The below companies frequently offer work at home opportunities with no experience required:
Virtual Assistant Jobs
Fancy Hands – This company hires virtual assistants as independent contractors to assist clients with tasks like scheduling appointments, purchasing items online, customer service, and more. Pay is reported on Glassdoor as between $8 and $11 per hour.
Upwork – Upwork is a huge freelance marketplace that frequently offers tasks for virtual assistants. Keep in mind that they do take a 10% cut of any payment you receive. Indeed – Indeed is, in my opinion, the best and largest job board out there. Just type “virtual assistant” in the search bar and see what you find. Millions of companies and entrepreneurs post there each day and you might land a really good long term virtual assisting job.
Vicky Virtual – As a virtual assistant for this company, you will be assisting clients with tasks like answering their phone calls, responding to their emails, and/or completing data entry projects for them. Pay is $10 per hour.
Internet and/or Market Research Jobs
Maritz Research – This is a market research company, and as a Market Research Interviewer, you will be conducting phone surveys with customers to gather data for clients. The pay is your state’s minimum wage but you are given a 30 day perfect attendance increase of $.50 (if you have perfect attendance of course) and possible performance increases at different times of the year.
I Soft Stone – This company hires Ad Evaluators to evaluate client website ads, Search Engine Evaluators to evaluate different search engines, and English Transcribers to transcribe various recordings. The pay is between $12-$15 per hour, provided you receive a steady amount of tasks each day.
Appen – Appen is the same concept as I Soft Stone and hires Crowdsourcers and Social Media Evaluators. The pay is reported to be between $12 and $13 hourly.
Leapforce – Leapforce hires independent agents to conduct research, evaluate Google results, and test the usefulness of webpages. The pay is $13 per hour, as of the time of this post.
Nexrep – Nexrep consistently has opportunities for tech support or sales representatives to assist with client accounts. You will be conducting inbound and outbound calls, and responding to customers via email and sometimes chat. The pay is reported as $10 to $11 per hour starting out.
Alorica – Alorica has an at home program where they hire Agents to assist with inbound customer calls for different accounts. Pay is per minute, per call, or an hourly rate, based on the client account you are working for. You are paid between $9 and $11 per hour.
Pleio – Pleio hires independent contractors as Good Starters Mentors to assist with reminding patients to take their prescribed medications. You will also be educating patients on particular items that will be noted during training. The pay is not listed on the website; however, I’ve read on other sites that it is between $14-$18 per hour.
Uhaul – Uhaul periodically hires Customer Service, Reservations, and Roadside Assistance Agents to work from home. Customer service experience is preferred but no required. They pay is between $9 and $14 per hour.
Sutherland – This company hires work at home customer support reps to handle their client accounts. The pay is between $9 and $11 hourly with opportunities for sales incentives and performance bonuses.
Sitel – Sitel hires Agents to work from home servicing inbound calls for clients. These calls may range from technical support and product order assistance, to billing inquiries and product troubleshooting. The pay is between $9 and $11 per hour.
Working Solutions – Hires Travel Agents or Customer Service Agents to work from home assisting customers with inquiries. The pay is based on the type of project you are working on and they also offer discounts to major computer retailers and referral program bonuses.
Small Gig/Task Jobs
Humanatic – You can get paid to review recorded phone calls and answer questions regarding the call. Pay varies depending on your skill level and accuracy and is typically between $1 and $4.50 an hour. Improve your accuracy rating, and you will start to earn more.
Fiverr – If you have a skill such as writing, graphic design, singing, psychic readings and more, you can sell your services on Fiverr. You can start your gig price at as low as $5 and as high as whatever you want. Clicking here will give you a free $5 credit after you sign up to use on any gig to try out the site as a buyer and see how it works.
Amazon MTurk – MTurk provides “hits” to you as an MTurk worker that you can complete for small amounts of money. The types of tasks include things like inputting data into forms, or finding information on a website. You can collect your earnings on an Amazon gift card or Amazon payments account.
PeoplePerHour – You can advertise your services on this website and dictate how much you are going to charger for them, on an hourly basis.
EasyShift – An app that you can use on your smartphone to complete small tasks like shopping, eating out, and exploring in your city and make a small amount of money for each task.
